Marié's latest video was put up just before she kicked off her summer tour as a special guest on the Lilith Fair 2010, and is a beautiful new original + piano dedicated to Los Angeles, her hometown. In the description box, Marié describes how she has seen people come and go in Los Angeles and how alluring, yet cruel the city can be. She explains how careers have been destroyed and have taken off, and how she met so many aspiring musicians in her teens and early twenties, many of which left the city within a matter of years. New Myspace Blog: umm... ASIA !!!!!!!!

File Under: Blog Updates, Touring

Posted by Claire on Jul 08 2009

Marié just posted a new blog about her trip to Asia at the end of this month, gives us a little more information about the shows, talks briefly about her trip to Malaysia last year, and gives us a sneak peek of a mini movie she will be doing for the new album. Don't forget to drop by the forum as well!
It's been quite an interesting last few weeks.
Right now, I'm scrambling to figure out all the details for my promo trip out in Japan and southeast Asia.

YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just had to get that out there. I'm very excited

I can't believe I'm FINALLY making it out to the Philippines !

As of now, I'm playing Singapore on the 28th - The Arena, Manila - Aug 1st (I think the Hard Rock) and Summer Sonic on the 8th in Tokyo..
These will be my very very first performances of the music from Breathing Underwater.
I only have a little time to rehearse and figure out the show but I really hope that I put together something that you all will LOVE !! That's all I care about, is giving you guys an amazing experience to walk away from.... It'll be a small configuration of just me, and two other guys.
My only dilemma is : I want to make sure that I don't repeat what happened in Malaysia last year. I just had no idea what to expect when I did a little mall show (was hoping for a few hundred folks to come and listen) but several thousand came... The whole situation was a bit out of control and I barely had a chance to meet anyone. Any person who's attended a show of mine will tell you that I'll stay outside until my fingers are falling off to meet and greet and thank every person. Why? Because that's the kind of musician I want to be and that's the kind of musician I admire. I remember all the years of going to shows and waiting outside of the venue for hours just to catch a glimpse of my favorite artist.. I know how that feels.
So I'm doing my best to coordinate with the show bookers, the label folks, all the biz people to make sure it's a bit more organized. I'd much rather meet a small group of people and really get a chance to talk and hang out instead of meeting everyone and not even getting a chance to get your name and introduce myself ;)
Then again, if I'm only playing to 15 people, there won't be a dilemma at all lol
Once again, I just don't know what to expect ;)
All I know is that I've been waiting and wanting to get back to singapore, philippines, malaysia and japan ... It looks like Malaysia isn't working out this time but you know I'll be back ! Then europe - someday- ahh europe. I gotta get over there toO ! One thing at a time.
I'm also in talks to do something very exciting which will be somewhat like a mini movie based on all the songs from my album. Think of it as a very unconventional music video - except this one uses every song !

Okay, that's it for now I guess. I will post any new updates as they come in regarding my trip and future plans.
Hope you are all very, super, fantastically, out of this worldly.... well :)

xoxo marié

I thought it would be nice to dedicate a post to all of the amazing musicians on YouTube, who excite us with out-of-this-world Marié Digby covers! Obviously as Marié is a female, it'll be harder work for a man to pull off one of her songs, but miniachilles does it perfectly! View his cover here. Another guy who does a good job of Say It Again can be viewed here! I also adore this one. If you have a personal favourite - please post it on the forum here.

Song Translations & Ameba Blog

File Under: Blog Updates, Pictures, Other

Posted by Claire on Jul 01 2009

Marié posted a brief greeting message to her fans out in Japan and other Asian countries on her official website, which you can see here in the gallery. I have also added some new pictures Marié posted on her Ameba blog! Also, Marié's official website has posted brief explanations of each song on the new album, and thanks to Kelly, below is a translation:

1. Daybreak
When I had a wonderful time with a person I love, I always do not want to end the day. So when the day breaks, the moment when light passes through the window in the morning, i will have a feeling which the happy moments on yesterday would be gone.

2. Avalanche
We will have some questions in our mind when a relationship is going to be broken. Is that a valuable one to us? Should we try to keep on the relationship? Although it seems to be impossible to save everything, there're still things like showing more consideration can be done to repair the relationship (if you still love each another).

3. Breathing Underwater
At the beginning of a relationship, lovers always feel very happy. No worries. No anxiety. That kind of comfortable and joyful feeling is like breathing underwater.

4. Shoulda Been Simple
It's hard for me to say goodbye to and part from people I love. Because it always hurts the other. So I learnt it's better to simplify everything as much as possible. It's bad to prolong the farewell.

5. Know You By Heart**

6. Feel
I want to get responses from people who are hiding their emotions. It's like talking to walls when I'm not getting any kind of message back.

7. Come Find Me
If we always try to hide our true selves, protect ourselves and escape from the truth, we may miss something important in life, like love. So what I have in mind is that "Don't fear but catch every chance"!

8. Symphony
It's a song for people who support my music from the beginning until now. As an artist, I always want to try different kind of music, which I hope everyone can understand. Instead of staying in one place, I think it's better for me to try doing what I can do and climb upper in my career but not fear of trying somrthing new without moving on.

9. Machine
When we're make decisions, people may even try to see others ideas and choices, we may sometimes mind what others think. But the important thing is to know what we are living for and what you want. Because there is no point to live like a machine, following and obeying others' orders.

10. Overboard (featuring Livvi Franc)**
It's a song made with JIVE Record's artist. The feeling of the song, the contrast made by guitars and the song arrangement are quite satisfactory.

11. Love With A Stranger**
It's a controversial topic. But I do not think it's a bad thing. It might mean a very good connection with strangers.

12. Come To Life
In my life, I always want to have control over things. But I know it's impossible to get into others' mind. Thus what I want to tell from the song is "Love is not a thing that can be hurried. Just let it come naturally."

13. Crazier Things*
I was afraid to get hurt, but it made me missed many things. So this makes me have the courage...

14. Sanctuary
In this chaotic world, I found that a place which is free of fear and guilt is needed. That is the sanctuary.

15. Make It Happen
Songs always give people a goal. Though this song, I hope to encourage people to try their best to finish every race.

16. Surrender**
He is attractive, I met him at night in a club. And he's the one who stole my heart.

17. Fool On Parade**

** Not sure of the original text's meaning.
