Marié's latest video was put up just before she kicked off her summer tour as a special guest on the Lilith Fair 2010, and is a beautiful new original + piano dedicated to Los Angeles, her hometown. In the description box, Marié describes how she has seen people come and go in Los Angeles and how alluring, yet cruel the city can be. She explains how careers have been destroyed and have taken off, and how she met so many aspiring musicians in her teens and early twenties, many of which left the city within a matter of years. Watch it here!

Marié has just announced some super exciting news about the mini-movie for her brand-new album, "Breathing Underwater", in an interview for CampusCircle, which can read below! In the interview, she also talks more about the residency she'll be doing at the Hotel Café starting next Monday. Speaking of interviews, Marié did another interview for 13 Minutes Magazine, in which she talks about her new album, "Breathing Underwater", some of her favorite designers, and more info about her mini-movie. Lastly, Marié will be doing a guest appearance for XM Radio on the 25th, so be sure to tune into The Pink Channel XM24 at noon!

For an artist who rose to fame making YouTube videos, Marié Digby is proving that she can do more than just cover pop songs. She released two records this year: her sophomore album, Breathing Underwater, and a Japanese cover album, Second Home.

She is currently involved with Generation Project, a charity founded by one of her friends, which helps raise money and supplies for schools across the country. And, instead of making music videos for her songs off Breathing Underwater, she has decided to turn the album into a feature film.

“It’s definitely a love story,” says Digby. “I will be re-enacting some of the things that went on during the making of the album, other parts of it will be a mixture of what really happened and what I imagined happening.” (Look out for five-minute clips of the project that will start being released by the end of this year.)

While she’s in the midst of casting different friends and musicians to help her vision come to life...[read more]

After her support/meet and greet party for her best friends' charity launch, Marié performed at The Americana in Glendale, CA on the third of October for Donate Life. In order to make up for the past week of unupdatedness (sorry about that, folks), we've added 30 brand-spanking-new pictures from the show, in which, we see the many (adorable!) expressions of Marié, and that dress from the Summer Sonic show in August! Thanks to the lovely DigbyHolics for bringing these photos to attention and Keisha on Flickr for taking them! You can also check out a bunch of videos from the event below.

Marié's Fall Music List!

File Under:

Posted by Claire on Sep 23 2009

Marié did an interview with Amazon a couple months back, which includes a list of her all-time favorite music, such as rap singer Jay-Z, R&B songstress Beyoncé, and indie/soul singers Zero 7 and Sia (did you know that Marié wants to collaborate with Sia?). Samples of the songs can be heard below!
1) Imogen Heap: "2/1" (from Ellipse)
» Imogen’s newest album “Ellipse” is truly a masterpiece and this is my favorite song from the album. She is one of the artists I would buy a CD from without even previewing.

2) Jay-Z: "D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune)" (from The Blueprint 3)
» Everything Jay-Z seems to touch is fresh. This track is just super smart.

3) Zero 7: "Destiny" (from Simple Things)
» I discovered the lovely Sia from this track where she is the guest vocalist. One of the most romantic songs of Sin Nombre all time in my opinion.

4) Aaliyah: "We Need A Resolution" (from Aaliyah)
» She was so mysterious, unique and talented. I loved everything that Aaliyah stood for.

5) Marcelo Zarvos: "Sin Nombre" (from Sin Nombre)
» Great movie and even better soundtrack!

6) Portishead: "Roads" (from Dummy)
» If there's one artist that changed my life, it's Portishead. I was 13 when I first heard them and have been mesmerized ever since.

7) Phoenix: "Fences" (from Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix)
» Just did a TV show next door to Phoenix while in Japan. I wanted to tell them I’ve been a huge fan for years but missed my chance!

8) Nine Inch Nails: "Piggy" (from The Downward Spiral)
» The Downward Spiral was one of the most important albums in my teenage years. I still love this song.

9) POE: "Dolphin" (from Hello)
» I think Poe is quite underestimated and fantastic. I love that she leaves all the imperfections in her voice on the track; that to me is perfect.

10) Beyonce: "Sweet Dreams" (from I Am…Sasha Fierce)
» Just saw Beyonce in concert and was blown away. I went from a fan to a full blown Beyonce worshipper!

11) Eminem: "Beautiful" (from Relapse)
» As controversial as Eminem can be, very few can argue how talented he is.

12) Andrew Bird: "Anonanimal" (from Noble Beast)
» Brilliant songwriter/musician/artist. My little sister introduced me.

13) Jimi Hendrix: "Angel" (from Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix)
» I have probably listened to this song thousands of times and it never gets old.

14) Amerie: "Why R U" (from In Love & War)
» This song perfectly, word for word, captures what I'm feeling right now.

15) Deftones: "Around the Fur" (from Around the Fur)
» One of my favorite rock bands and rock songs of all time.

16) Madonna: "Love Profusion" (from American Life)
» It's hard to pick just one Madonna song but this is one of her lesser known and one of my favorites.

17) Sia: "Breathe Me" (from Colour the Small One)
» Stumbled upon this track and fell in love with Sia.

18) Nina Simone: "Feeling Good" (from I Put a Spell on You)
» One of the best vocals of all time in my opinion. No one matches the raw emotion of Nina Simone!
