Marié's latest video was put up just before she kicked off her summer tour as a special guest on the Lilith Fair 2010, and is a beautiful new original + piano dedicated to Los Angeles, her hometown. In the description box, Marié describes how she has seen people come and go in Los Angeles and how alluring, yet cruel the city can be. She explains how careers have been destroyed and have taken off, and how she met so many aspiring musicians in her teens and early twenties, many of which left the city within a matter of years. Watch it here!

Happy 27th Birthday, Marié!

File Under: News, Other

Posted by Claire on Apr 17 2010

Despite the fact that I've been on a trip and busy the past few days, as soon as I could get onto an internet connection, I had to post about Marié's birthday. Even though I'm a little late (a day late!), I wanted to wish Marié a very, very happy (belated) birthday, and I hope you had a awesome one! I'm really looking forward to your projects for the rest of the year (hmm, have you looked into that two albums suggestion from a fan on Twitter?). I attempted to make a part two video to the one I made last year, but unfortunately, it didn't load correctly, so it's basically cut off towards the end. Make sure you check it out if you get the chance, though! Take a look at the Digbyholics' "A Digbyholics Day" as well; it's great, so check it out here.

New Pictures and Interview with Nicki Sun!

A few fans who attended Marié's Hotel Utah show back in December also took pictures, so I added an absolutely beautiful set of pictures from that show, as well as another set from Marié's show at the University of Berkeley (the college Marié attended for a year and majored in philosophy at) on the 3rd. I can't wait to see more pictures from her Berkeley show, and I'm sure you guys can't wait also! Also, fellow YouTuber Nicki Sun interviewed Marié after her Berkeley show on the 3rd; the interview really shows what an amazing person Marié is (and how goofy as well)! Edit: If you guys haven't already noticed, I've put up yet another spring-themed layout, because I think it was definitely time for some change (the last layout was up for two months!). I really love the peacefulness of the colors and the style, and I hope you guys do too. The pictures were definitely the main inspiration for this layout. If you would like, post a comment in the chatbox and tell me what you think!

File Under: Videos, Interviews

Posted by Claire on Mar 11 2010

Marié tweeted the other day about some upcoming shows she's going to be holding in April; there are only three at the moment, but she says that more tour dates are coming soon. Also, CauseCast posted a few more clips of Marié's peace interview back in February-you can watch all three interviews below! In addition, thanks to fellow Digbyholic George for uploading Marié's fifth Japanese lesson from her Ameblo blog; learn how to say "Hope to see you soon!" in both English and Japanese, whichever you prefer more. Formspring and MAMi Magazine Behind-The-Scenes

Posted by Claire on Mar 01 2010

Marié was asking earlier today on her Twitter about what Formspring is and what you can do with it. So, a few hours later, she signed up, and hosted a question-packed session with her fans. Marié answered a lot questions; including some super random ones like what her bra size is and who her boyfriend is currently. If you would like to send Marié a question, you can do so by clicking here! Also, Kate sZatmari posted a few behind-the-scenes videos on her YouTube from the MAMi Magazine photoshoot back in November. Click the videos below to see them!

Marié just attended the Guvera Pre-Launch Party in New York City, and for those of you following her on Twitter, you know that she held a performance there. Guvera is an upcoming music website that launches on March 31; you can read more about the site here. She looks absolutely stunning, and in the words of Marié, her dress is killer! More pictures from the event should be coming soon; I can't wait to see the rest of them!

"What Does Peace Mean?"

File Under: Videos

Posted by Claire on Feb 04 2010

Marié did an interview recently with CauseCast, a foundation that supports charities and good causes. The topic of the interview was about her views on what peace really means. She explained what she thought peace to mean as "a time in the world where you don't have to worry about being harmed for what you believe or how you live." Thank you to Jaymie for finding this interview!

"How I Write A Song" New Video!

File Under: Videos

Posted by Claire on Feb 02 2010

Marié just uploaded a new, very inspirational original song/video (it's been quite a while since her last original song video), and it's titled "How I Write A Song." She explains her process of writing songs and how her grandmother's fight to stay alive inspired her to write a new original song. Marié says she's not completely finished writing the song, but was able to come up with a two different verses and the chorus for her new song on the spot while making the video. The new song sounds absolutely incredible and sounds a lot like the folky-indie sound of "Unfold." I cannot wait to hear more songs like this one!
