I caught a super bad flu last week :( But good thing is, it forced me to stay at home and since I had so much time to kill... I also had time to be creative and write new songs! I was in such a state of discomfort that I wanted to write something utterly happy and cheerful... so voila...

Marié has been in Manila, Philippines for a few weeks now deciding on a new label for her upcoming album this year; while she's been there, she participated in Jam for Japan, a fundraising event for victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami that affected thousands. She performed among thirty other very talented bands and musicians, so she only sang two songs. Her performance, however, was incredible. Marié sang "Say It Again" and "Umbrella" and got the audience singing along with her. In between the songs she sang, she teared up while telling her experience of the earthquake and it shows how much she cares about her country. Love you, Marié! You can watch her entire performance below!
I found out that I'd missed a whole bunch of amazing pictures from two of Marié's recent shows--the Kollaboration in Los Angeles last August, and her France shows this past January. A big shout out to photographers and the Digbyholics for finding the beautiful France pictures. You can view them below! In other (but still tour-related) news, word has gotten out that Marié just landed in the Philippines today to work on her new album--I also have news of a show via her Twitter, for which the details are still being tweaked. If you haven't already heard, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck Japan last week and caused a huge tsunami. Fortunately, Marié was unharmed, but many, many other people were injured--my thoughts are with you all. You can watch a video of Marié arriving and read a loose translation of her experience here.
Marié held a show in Los Angeles yesterday before she headed off to Tokyo this morning to work on her new album (am I the only one who's very excited?). It's an absolutely adorable/amazing performance, as usual--I love how she's always so sweet and interactive with the crowd. Marié played a mixture of songs from her debut and sophomore albums and even "Your Love," with an addition of a pre-chorus and lots of clapping from the audience. She even announced that her next album will be out towards the last half of the year! Thank you to Albert of the lovely Digbyholics for the entire show recording, you're the best.
I'm a bit late to post this, but I have some very exciting news: a few days ago, Marié just uploaded a happy, fun song entitled "Your Love" which is embodies summertime quite well. I'm loving everything about it. It's such a lovely song and the lyrics are clever--just what we've come to expect from Marié (P.S. The ending of the video is adorable, which is yet another good reason to watch this if you haven't already)! In tour-type news, Marié's performing in Los Angeles in about a week (March 4th to be exact) and tickets are available for pre-order now--so if you're in the area, check out BG Production for more information, including pricing! You can watch Marié's new original below!
Marié has just finished up her two shows in France: one in Cannes, and one in Paris, and will be heading home to Los Angeles quite soon. The lovely isloche on YouTube has uploaded the entire one and a half hour show on January 26 (shoutout to Digbyholics for finding the videos!) though we have yet to receive news about the show in Cannes. In other (but related) news, Marié has posted seven pictures from her trip and I've uploaded them to the gallery; links can be found below, as well as the entire show in Paris. She looks absolutely lovely in all of the photos and I'm loving her three new songs!
Marié's heading off to France tomorrow for her first ever show in Europe, but she treated her viewers to a brand new cover: "On the Floor" by Jennifer Lopez! Her voice sounds beautiful as always, and I'm loving her version of the song. The new setup is lovely as well, the guitar in the background flows well with everything else. I think she rocked the song; what do you think? By the way; if you live in Paris and are interested in going to Marié's show, click here for more information. You can listen to the cover below!
Marié kicked off the new year by uploading a brand new video; it's a cover of Far East Movement's song, "Rocketeer"! She did a lovely job with her Hummingbird and as always, makes it sound original (is it just me or is it reminiscent of her Unfold days?). She says "it was challenging but fun to do;" I give her props, her vocals were amazing! The rap part of the song was cute as well. Listen to it below!
